December 09, 1943 New York NY choreographer/dancer/teacher bethsollandcompany.org 1 Forest Home School, East Hill School Boynton Boynton After graduating, I went to the University of Wisconsin, got married, and eventually had a son, Jacob Soll, who is a French History professor at Rutgers and has written two superb books.
I have two wonderful grandchildren: Sophia and Lydia.
I have spent all my life dancing and making dances
as described below (from a program bio).
I look forward to seeing many of you at the next reunion.

Beth Soll has been making dances since 1965 and has choreographed more than 125 works. As a soloist and with her company, she has performed in much of the United States and in Europe and Asia. She received her early training from Romanian modern dancers Iris Barbura and Vergiu Cornea. Later she continued her studies in the European style of dance at the Essenvolkwangschule, the Kreutzbergschule in Switzerland, and the University of Wisconsin, where she earned a degree in modern dance. She has held faculty positions at the University of Wisconsin, the Boston Conservatory, Boston University, the Harvard Summer Dance Center, MIT (where she directed the Dance Program for 20 years), UC Santa Barbara, Hofstra University, the New School, Manhattanville College, and many private organizations. She has performed with dance companies in the Midwest and in Boston, and she has collaborated or danced with many independent choreographers, including Frances Alenikoff, Ze'eva Cohen, Bill Evans, Martha Gray, Ina Hahn, Anna Nassif, Rosalind Newman, Wendy Perron, and Mel Wong. For her work, Soll has received 7 Choreography Fellowships and many Dance Company Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, awards from the Artists’ Foundation, and grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Boston Arts Lottery, the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Polaroid Foundation, the Boston Globe Foundation, the Bossak/Heilbron Charitable Foundation, and the Lef Foundation. The Company has won awards for outstanding achievement from Boston Magazine, The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, and the Association of Performing Arts. In 1993, Soll was given an Eliot Norton Award for her work as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. In 1999, she earned a Ph.D. from the University Professors Program at Boston University. She is currently an adjunct professor at Manhattanville College and Empire State College, and she teaches ESL at NYU and Columbia University. Her book, "Will Modern Dance Survive? Lessons to be Learned from the Pioneers and Unsung Visionaries of Modern Dance", was published in 2002.

December 21, 1943 Youngsville NC Retired Married 2 Fall Creek Boynton Jr. High IHS Fifty years! I never would have thought that I would feel as well as I do at this ripe old age. Where has the time gone and what have I been doing? Well, after graduating from Ithaca College I went to work for Agway in Syracuse where I met and married my wife, Pam. After Agway I took a job at a savings and loan in Connecticut and worked there until 1977 when we moved back to Ithaca and a job at Cornell. I was an administrator for a Physics research laboratory until my retirement in June of 2009. I really enjoyed my work at Cornell for all of the years I was there and perhaps would have stayed on if they had not offered an incentive to retire. It was the first time in Cornell's history that they offered one and the timing was great for me. I have had fun establishing a life after retirement and have found many things to do including golf, hiking and involvement with a historical group restoring a Thomas-Morse plane that was built on south hill 92 years ago. I have also recently obtained my private pilot license and enjoy flying with friends. Pam and I have two grown children, both of whom live in North Carolina. We enjoy visiting them and may one day end up there. In the meantime we have many friends in Ithaca and enjoy our lives and activities so have much to be thankful for.

July 04, 1944 Vestal NY retired Married 1 After high school I went to Ithaca College for two years. I have worked at a few boring office jobs, but mostly have just been a homemaker. I married Hank Sommers in 1964. He worked mostly in radio and advertising and is now semi retired. We've lived in the Binghamton, NY area except for two years in Springfiled, MA. I like antiques and used to do a lot of furniture refinishing and we have always been "do it yourselfers" around the house. I also like dogs, wild life, gardening, and reading about history. We enjoy visiting historic sites and museums and hiking with our dog. Our son, his wife, and our two young grandsons live in Bath, ME.

March 15, 1943 Anchorage AK life coach/writer Single Cayuga Heights Boynton IHS Following graduation from IHS, I returned to the place of my birth {Colorado} and attended The Colorado College. Upon completion...having focussed on Comparative Religion and Philosophy and English...my life became an odyssey of travel and soul-searching for the passion that would hold me through the years. I found that passion as a counselor/life coach...eventually returning to school and becoming certified in Complementary Health Care and body work. I moved to Alaska in 1982, and founded GateKey School of Mind/body Integration Studies in 1984. My partner and I ran the school for 25 years...retiring it in 2009. It was a great run! During those years I studied and worked in Shanghai, China {1984}, was a 'citizen diplomate' in the Soviet Union {1986},trekked a spiritual trail in Peru {1992} and have generally fallen more in love with life. My first book is with my editor at the moment {April 2011}...titled "The Courage to Change/The Will to Forgive." I continue 'coaching'. What fun it all is!!!
Thank all of you, who have so thoughtfully brought this reunion together!!!!  Wow...what a grand effort of love!     Send Carol... aka Ketki...for the past 30 yrs. a MessageSend Carol... aka Ketki...for the past 30 yrs. a Message
