After high school and business school, I returned to Ithaca and worked at Cornell for several years at the Hotel School and the Veterinary College. I married a veterinary student in 1968 and upon his graduation in 1970 we relocated to the Albany area, where we raised two daughters and still reside. I was fortunate to be able to work from home while the girls were small and then went to work in the Executive Office at The Desmond Hotel.
We have been blessed with 3 granddaughters, 2 of them live around the corner from us and the youngest one lives about 20 minutes away. I am loving retirement. It offers the freedom and time to spend with our family as well as persue all of my passions - interior decorating, gardening, reading, walking, pilates, and enjoy our 2 fantastic and adorable yorkies |

I married Tony Mignano after my graduation from Syracuse University. We lived in Liverpool, New York, for almost 30 years. Our daughter, Michelle, was an accomplished rower so we were on the road to various races. We even followed her to Germany when she represented the U.S. for the Junior Women's Rowing. It was awsome to see the competition! I worked for the Liverpool School District as a teacher assistant in Special Ed. for 20 years. We moved to Cortland, New York, to be closer to our aging parents in 1995. Tony and I divorced, so I went back to college (after 33 years!) to get my Masters and Teaching Certificate (late bloomer!). For one of my graduate courses, I spent 6 weeks in Italy, visiting schools. After that, I became "Italian" in every sense! I taught Special Ed. at Homer Elementary School, second grade. It was a wonderful experience - great kids. I have been able to make 2 more trips to Italy, one with my daughter, and one with Judy Elmo Leonardo! I retired from teaching and remarried Tony Mignano.
My special interests have always been the care and welfare of animals. We have always had cats at home (at least 4 or 5!) and I support the SPCA in Cortland. I also love to work out in my flower gardens. It doesn't get much better than a warm, sunny day and fragrant flowers!

First of all, I have two daughters and two sons and seven grandkids. I feel blessed. I'm retired after 30 years at Cargill Salt. I worked 25 years in Lansing, NY, and then transferred to Cleveland, OH for 5 more years. That's a long time under ground. While I was in Cleveland we bought a house which we just moved back into after we sold our home in Groton. My youngest son works for Cargill on the surface in Ohio.
While I was initially in Ohio, my wife, Martha, stayed in NY working at the Groton Bank. We are both retired now and together in Cleveland. I had three more jobs since retiring, but NO MORE. I am done. I've been singing all my life. I sang 20 years with a band and then spent 21 years as a DJ. I Recorded two albums available as CDs and tapes. If you'd like them, call me at 607-898-3894. The package of 2 CDs and 2 tapes is $30. I enjoyed seeing everyone at the reunion and singing for you.
We moved to Ohio in Oct. 2012. I'm currently recuperating from hip surgery (Jan. 2013), doing physical therapy, and I really feel great. I love it here in Cleveland. My younger son is here with his family. Other son is in NY and daughter in NJ.
It is great to hear from all of you.

After I finished high school in '61, I worked at GLF Feed Store for two winters. I then went into full-time dairy farming until 1991 when I sold the cows and started crop farming which I still do today. In 1991, I ran Excavation Eq for two years and then went into house construction for 15 years with two friends. I finally decided to slow down and enjoy life. 2010 brings another trip out to Sturgis, South Dakota, for motorcycle week.
My interests, and hobbies are wood working, restoring old Chevy cars and John Deere 2 cylinder tractors. I have been riding Harley-Davidson Motorcycles for the last 45 years.

Well, not much. I did live and work in Mesa, Arizona, and also worked in Tempe. I moved to Wisconsin and lived and worked for a different company. I went to California 3 or 4 times. I drove out there from New York and Wisconsin. I had a Brother and Son there. I retired from Emersion Power Transmission and work part time as a cleaner.
It is nice to hear from you.I really don't have a lot to say but through the years I moved a lot, worked on the road fixing machines so I didn't save much. P.S. I'm looking to buy or get a '61 high school Annual if someone has an extra one. Take Care Wayne D. Arthur Wayne passed away on June 17, 2022. To read his obituary, click here. |
