April 07, 1944 Wilmington NC semi-retired Married 2 Brooktondale and Morris Chapel Boynton Junior High Boyton Junior High Interestingly, at least to me, is that I continue to be semi-retired. As a retired teacher I am eligible to tutor part-time and have now done so for several years. I work in elementary schools, last year with grades 2 through 5, in the areas of reading and math. I was thrilled to receive a phone call this past May only 5 days after my last day at school, inviting me back to the school where I have tutored the past two years. So, beginning in September I will return to work and laugh with the people who I really enjoy. My husband, John, and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this year. We spent a week in two of our favorite cities in Italy, Venice and Florence. It was the first time we have been there without a group along, so it was like seeing each city for the first time. John also continues teaching at UNCW in the Honors program, but this will probably be his last year. At 73 he has decided it's time to really retire. We are blessed with a granddaughter, Ava, who at 3 1/2 is a bundle of energy and joy. She lives in South Carolina so we only see her every 4 to 6 weeks. Life continues to be good for us. We are both healthy and keep active in both our professional lives and personal lives. We love our church family and manage to enjoy being with many of them on occasions outside of church. I hope each of you can laugh each day. Life is too short to be too serious.

April 21, 1943 Winter Park FL Retired engineer 2 Cayuga Heights Boynton Don't remember After IHS, I went to Cornell for a Bachelor’s degree, then to MIT for a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. I spent several years trying to find a suitable permanent job. I finally switched over to military electronics for the rest of my job career.

I got married, and we had twin sons (now 40 years old). One of my sons is career in the Army, and the other is an engineer in the Boston area. We divorced after 25 years, and after another 10 years I got married again. They say that second marriages are the triumph of hope over experience. We are currently separated.

I have lived, successively, in Southampton, England, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA, Fort Walton Beach, Florida (look it up), briefly in Las Vegas, now in the Orlando area (Winter Park) for the last 5 years.

I retired on July 1st, 2010. If I had known that retirement was so much fun, I would have done so earlier. My time is occupied with home upgrades, travel, fishing, and Hashing.

September 15, 1943 Berthoud CO retired Widowed 3 Boynton Jr. High I left Ithaca to attend college in Cortland. Moved to Brooklyn in 1962 and then to Greenwich Village where I met my future husband, Douglas, who was working toward his Masters degree in Geology at NYU. Married in October 1964 and we had our first child (Ken) in September 1965. Moved to State College, PA where we had our second child (Joyce) in 1967 and Doug received his PhD in Geology (micropaleontology)in 1968. Moved to Tempe, Arizona (Arizona State)and then to Geneseo, NY (SUNY) where Doug taught and I studied anthropology and art. We moved to the Denver area in 1974 and had our third child (Amber) in 1977. We lived and worked in the Denver area (Littleton) until we both retired on the same day in 2006 - me from the professional engineering society SME (Society for Mining, Metallury & Exploration) and Doug from the USGS. We moved to a small historic town in northern Colorado the year before we retired and, after retirement, spent 4 wonderful and active years traveling, completing a book on the K-T Boundary and it's significance to the sudden disappearance of the dinosaurs, and pursuing other scientific activities until Doug passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly in January 2010. Doug's research and my career at SME provided us with the opportunity to travel extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
I live in Berthoud, Colorado where I enjoy the company of so many wonderful friends, am active in the art community (I work in stained glass and pottery), volunteer, garden, care for my numerous dogs, cats, and birds, and take advantage of Colorado's majestic mountains and glorious scenery whenever I can. All three of my children and their spouses (and one grandchild) live in the area and we spend a great deal of of time together.

November 27, 1943 Trumansburg NY Almost retired Propane marketer Ehrhartpropane.com Married 4 Fall Creek Boynton Jr High no Kathleen Denison Overbaugh - The Rest of the Story

Since Tom wrote a good description of his take on our life together over 47 years, I will try to add to it, and not repeat anything. Live has been good to us – we married young, worked hard together as partners, raising our four children and building our business and are now looking forward to retiring together.

As Tom said, we have four grown children – Tracy, the eldest, lives here in Trumansburg with her husband, John, and their son Louis, 9 years old. She works in our business and is in line to take over my responsibilities as financial officer. Our son, John, lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, Holly, and their three sons, Ethan (16 years old, with a wonderful singing voice), Caleb (13 and a champion wrestler and tuba-player), and Gabriel (10 and a Karate expert). I don’t get to see them as much as I should, but John keeps us informed on Facebook.
Bill lives here in Trumansburg with his wife, Darlynne, and is our General Manager. They have been married just a few years and are too busy right now to think about having children, but I look to them for a granddaughter. Darlynne has a chocolate shop in the village.
Lydia is working on her PhD in anthropology at University of Texas at San Antonio, and lives there with her significant other, Chris, and their 2 year old son, Connor.

Tom mentioned that we have been able to travel, which is my favorite thing. We have youth exchange sons, daughters and grandchildren all over the world, and many friends that we have worked with in youth exchange. We have had many adventures in our travels – including a wonderful dinner with Hungarian friends in a 1000-year-old wine cellar in Eger, Hungary; a breath-taking day at Iguazu Falls on a day when the water was rushing over the viewing platforms; a wonderful boat ride around Hong Kong harbor and a walk on the Great Wall of China. We’ve ridden elephants in Thailand, and found the Royal Barges of the King in the middle of Bangkok, and have watched the sun rise on the back side of the Taj Mahal.

But the best part of traveling is coming home. We live a few miles out of Trumansburg in a house that was big enough for our family, now gives us lots of room to wander around and fill up with our stuff. I serve on some community Boards. A friend of ours once told us to always have a project, and Tom and I have taken that advice to heart. Being busy in positive ways keeps us both young.
