December 21, 1943 Youngsville NC Retired Married 2 Fall Creek Boynton Jr. High IHS Fifty years! I never would have thought that I would feel as well as I do at this ripe old age. Where has the time gone and what have I been doing? Well, after graduating from Ithaca College I went to work for Agway in Syracuse where I met and married my wife, Pam. After Agway I took a job at a savings and loan in Connecticut and worked there until 1977 when we moved back to Ithaca and a job at Cornell. I was an administrator for a Physics research laboratory until my retirement in June of 2009. I really enjoyed my work at Cornell for all of the years I was there and perhaps would have stayed on if they had not offered an incentive to retire. It was the first time in Cornell's history that they offered one and the timing was great for me. I have had fun establishing a life after retirement and have found many things to do including golf, hiking and involvement with a historical group restoring a Thomas-Morse plane that was built on south hill 92 years ago. I have also recently obtained my private pilot license and enjoy flying with friends. Pam and I have two grown children, both of whom live in North Carolina. We enjoy visiting them and may one day end up there. In the meantime we have many friends in Ithaca and enjoy our lives and activities so have much to be thankful for.
I missed the last reunion due to the fact we were in the process of relocating to the Raleigh, North Carolina area near my daughter and her husband. My son and his family live in Charlotte so it is easier to visit nowwhich is great. It has worked out very well and we enjoy it here. My sister, Lorraine, '65, and her husband have also moved here so it is like home. Send David a MessageSend David a Message
