October 20, 1943 Aurora NY Sit- Down Comic www.tinytowntimes.com/index.php Single 2 Stayed home to attend Cornell, did an extra year abroad in Vienna, returned and got an M.F.A. in creative writing from Cornell, wrote novels World According to Two feathers (before my fiend since John Irving wrote Garp}, wrote the book "Natural Bone" which was serialized in the GrapeVine, that classic Ithaca weekly. I, published in magazines, and put out my own, Started my own on line magizne, and am now publishing very happily on line at Dog's Plot (the blog of my imaginary brother) and in Ithaca's online satirical newspaper tinytown times, where Dog's Plot is featured, as are my weekly videos as Davey Weathercock reporting widely on the weather with my singing, crowing hen, Olive......but except for three years of teaching writing at the University of Puerto Rico and Cornell after graduating, I more or less supported myself and employed a few people, in partnership with Ed Franquemont, as President and chief roofer of Natural Bone Builders. When Ed left town to try and duplicate his historic Ithaca sucess down in New Haven, a liquidated the business and spent a couple of years renovating my family home on Edgewood Place (behind the Chapter House) as a bed and breakfast, which I had a lot of fun running with Misti Wilcox for a couple of years. Now most of my hand labor goes into looking after a tribe of chickens, and establishing a four acre fuit orchard, mostly by grafting various pear varieties onto wild seedling pear sasplings which have come up in the second growth. That nearly covers it. Probably wouldn't be any point in my comming to a runion and repeating that fifty times, but I would love to hear what happend with the others of my classmates not heard from.....particularly Wally Harrigton, my best friend then, and then the cheerleaders, being that I was their innocent (really) pet, since thir boy friends were the jocks. Just one of the ways, that fly fishing makes a good lifetime sport. Not that I've kept up with it.
Don't know if I could stand the  social excitement of an actual high school reuniuon, never having been to any sort of reunion, and I fugured I didn't know any of the people from my class any more except the dead ones, but I was surprised to see that I actually remembered most of the people who have signeed in here.

September 15, 1943 Berthoud CO retired Widowed 3 Boynton Jr. High I left Ithaca to attend college in Cortland. Moved to Brooklyn in 1962 and then to Greenwich Village where I met my future husband, Douglas, who was working toward his Masters degree in Geology at NYU. Married in October 1964 and we had our first child (Ken) in September 1965. Moved to State College, PA where we had our second child (Joyce) in 1967 and Doug received his PhD in Geology (micropaleontology)in 1968. Moved to Tempe, Arizona (Arizona State)and then to Geneseo, NY (SUNY) where Doug taught and I studied anthropology and art. We moved to the Denver area in 1974 and had our third child (Amber) in 1977. We lived and worked in the Denver area (Littleton) until we both retired on the same day in 2006 - me from the professional engineering society SME (Society for Mining, Metallury & Exploration) and Doug from the USGS. We moved to a small historic town in northern Colorado the year before we retired and, after retirement, spent 4 wonderful and active years traveling, completing a book on the K-T Boundary and it's significance to the sudden disappearance of the dinosaurs, and pursuing other scientific activities until Doug passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly in January 2010. Doug's research and my career at SME provided us with the opportunity to travel extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
I live in Berthoud, Colorado where I enjoy the company of so many wonderful friends, am active in the art community (I work in stained glass and pottery), volunteer, garden, care for my numerous dogs, cats, and birds, and take advantage of Colorado's majestic mountains and glorious scenery whenever I can. All three of my children and their spouses (and one grandchild) live in the area and we spend a great deal of of time together.

August 02, 1943 Boerne TX Retired Married South Hill Boynton Boynton After IHS I received degrees from Grove City and Syracuse in business education. During summers I worked at Agway, and Dean's in Ocean City, NJ. I taught at Lansing Central, Powelson Business Institute, and West Genesee Junior High, was a real estate agent in Brewster, NY and for three years had a small craft shop in Alexandria Bay, NY. We have lived in Syracuse, Elbridge, and Carmel, NY, and Oak View, CA. We now spend the year between Boerne, TX and our condo in Chicago.

My volunteer work has included being on the board of the Mahopac Historical Society, Reed Memorial Library, and the Newcomer's Club. I learned about and dealt with women who were physically and/or sexually abused at The Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center. In CA I started our neighborhood welcoming committee, worked at the Oak View Sheriff's Resource Center, wrote their volunteer handbook, and was part of the Ojai CERT. Volunteering at Ojai Hospice/Caring Neighbors was my most rewarding work.

Les and I married in 1970. He retired in 2006 and now has plenty of time to cook our dinners and play golf. Together we have renovated two houses and spent countless hours doing yard work. I've enjoyed book clubs, dance and exercise classes, and doing needlework. I can't resist Haagen Dazs and a good bargain. After frequent trips both here and abroad, we are now staying close to home...happily settling into our house in Texas where the people are great, the deer eat everything we plant, and our adopted five pound dog Binkie rules.
