This is the program from the joint Junior Choir and Band concert April 19, 1961.  To listen to the music of Rondo from the Trumpet Concerto by Johann Hummel, with solo by Richard Koski, click here.  Richard joined the Navy after IHS, and played in the Navy Band.  At some point after getting out of the Navy he stopped playing the trumpet.  He now plays accordion in the general Ithaca area.  To hear a composition written and played by Rich called the "Podunk Two-Step"  Click Here.

Concert Christmas 1958

This is the IHS Senior Choir, recorded live in the old IHS auditorium, Christmas 1958.  Bonnie Henderson is the soloist on this particular selection.  Accompanists are George Damp,  Edwenna Rosser, and Carol Sherf (our classmate).  Vito Mason is conducting the choir.  The orchestra was under the direction of Miss Carolyn Marsh.  Both the Senoir and Junior Choirs participated as well as the IHS orchestra.  To listen to "There Is A Balm In Gilead," Click Here.

IHS Class Of 1961 Adventures

Four members of the Ithaca High School Choir which had travelled to Washington for the National Music Educator's Conference to sing the Cherubini Mass in January 1961, participated in a television panel show, "Youth Wants to Know," filmed on January 12, 1961, consisting of an interview of Sen. Wayne Morse of Oregon.  Shown here are (from left) pupils Mary Lou Hoffman, Susan Blair, Senator Morse, Peter Storandt, and Thomas Rawski.   The TV show was apparently not broadcast in Ithaca (although the Ithaca Journal indicated WICB-TV was going to try to get a copy to show); it appeared nationally on January 15.
